Dear Premier Academy Staff, Parents and Friends:
We hope that this letter finds you and your family safe and well during these unprecedented times. During this time of separation, we have immensely missed interacting and engaging with our little ones and families and can’t wait to return to more normal times – times where we can be social and not distant.
As troubling as times have been, we are prepared and eagerly planning for our return. We know that Premier Academy is planting the foundation for future leaders and we don’t take that responsibility lightly. We’re excited and we’re ready to get back to work.
We have worked tirelessly to create the most logical, concrete and comprehensive re-entry plan. We approached our re-entry plans with your needs in mind and we have devised a plan that allows us to get back to operations, though limited, so that families may be able to resume some level of normalcy, as well.
Here’s how we are approaching our re-entry:
We have altered our summer plans considerably and plan to operate summer sessions at limited operational capacity. We are implementing a staggered re-entry process. Instead of returning all groups back at the same time, we are reducing the number of individuals who will be in the building at the same time. Please see the dates and TIMES for your child’s session below:
|June 15th||Teachers return to buildings.
No virtual instruction this week. Teachers will be engaged in preparing for the return of children.
|June 22- July 17th||Summer Transition Program Begins (8:30a.m. –3:00 p.m.) After-care available until 4:30 – $Cost To be Determined. This is a Pre-K program for rising Kindergartners. More details to follow for eligible families.|
|June 29-July 17th||Early Head Start/Infants and Toddler Session (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.)|
|June 29-July 31st||Preschool Session (8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)|
2020/2021 School Term
We have not made a determination yet on the start date or operational model for the upcoming school term. We will continue to receive guidance and advice from local health authorities and will also confer with Atlanta Public Schools as we plan. We are hopeful that we can return to full-scale operations and will work to do so.
We, like you, deeply care about the health and safety of your child and family. Our administrative team has worked tirelessly to create a comprehensive COVID-19 Safety Plan. This plan is HERE on our website. This plan will identify our new daily processes, new policies, as well as the safeguards we have taken to reduce the spread of this virus. We will also provide opportunities for you to communicate with the center’s leadership regarding the information contained in the COVID-19 Safety Plan. We are committed to ensuring that families are comfortable with returning their child to our care. Please know that we are taking drastic preventative measures and we will need your support by following our guidelines and working with us in a supportive manner, if we encounter any special circumstances that requires individual attention.
Our website will be updated with the most recent information related to our COVID-19 Re-entry Plans. Please continue to visit the site for updates. You may also e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org should you wish to contact us.
Thank you again for your continued support. We will get through these challenging times together by remaining optimistic about our future and ensuring that we are steadfast in our commitment to ensuring our previous jewels are getting a head start in life.
Stay safe and we will see you soon.

Parents as Partners
Research shows that parental involvement is a strong determining factor in the learning outcomes for children. Premier Academy proudly celebrates and promotes the continued participation and engagement of our parents in our centers.
As a result of a parental grass roots movement in May 1973, we recognize the role parents have played since our inception. It was our parents that organized as a demonstration project in the City of Atlanta to seek support for the continued operation of the Bedford Pine childcare facility. This rich legacy of parental involvement continues today as we continue to work together to ensure positive academic, social, and developmental outcomes are achieved for our children.
